Character Counts

Character Counts is a nationwide coalition that teaches students core ethical values through the Six Pillars of Character - namely trustworthiness, respect, responsibility, fairness, caring and citizenship. Character Education is taught to all students in grades PK-6 by Mrs. Pribil. The goal is for all of our students to know, understand, and implement these six pillars in their daily lives and interactions with every person they encounter. You can learn more about this program at their website: www.charactercounts.org.

The Character Counts! Program is the basis for student behavior. Students are recognized for demonstrating good values and citizenship. Teachers and staff give “gold cards” to students who show positive behavior and those students have a chance to win a free ice cream cone in a weekly drawing. The classroom that receives the most gold cards is rewarded with a pizza party Also, every month one student from each classroom will be awarded at an assembly for representing the pillar that is being taught that month.
