A Message from Dr. Watson – Superintendent, Martensdale-St. Marys Community School District

Over the last few months, I have had the opportunity to watch from afar as last school year ended. Now, in preparation for the 2023-2024 school year, I have had the opportunity to interact with students, staff, and community members. I have witnessed the great community spirit and support for our students, school, and communities.

With that, I am reminded daily of the tremendous opportunity that we have in our school district to work with our students. Whether they be from Martensdale or St. Marys, or across the two counties that intersect our communities, we are all Blue Devils. It is my expectation that every member of our team will give our students their best. I am humbled and honored to lead this process daily.

Over the course of my time here, I plan to listen, learn, and lead. That will not just be a priority in year one, but throughout my tenure. Whether a student, member of our staff, parent, or community member, I will listen and learn from you to better lead this District. Know that my door is always open, and I will always respond to an e-mail or phone call and take time to talk at an event.

Go Blue Devils!

William R. Watson, Ph.D. Superintendent
