On Monday, February 24th, at 5:00 p.m. there will be a JH girls’ track meeting for parents and athletes in the media center.  Athletico athletic trainer, Nealey Webster, will also be attending to talk about and do a shoe fitting for the girls. If you are unable to attend, please let Coach Benson know by emailing her at, so that she can pass along information.

There have been some people asking about extra state wrestling shirts.  The ones ordered have already been sold. An extra order can be put in, but we would need a minimum of 25 shirts to be able to place an order.  They wouldn’t be here in time for state but if it is something that you think you’d like to have, we can see if there are enough to place an extra order.  The cost would be $13 per shirt (extra $2 for sizes 2x-4x).  Please contact Emily Cassady at to be put on a list.

Students who wish to go watch the state wrestling tournament this afternoon must have a completed permission form filled out and turned in to the office no later than 10:00 a.m. this morning.  A pep bus will be available for $3.00 per person on Friday.  Students who ride the pep bus to the tournament must return to the school on the pep bus.  All students who plan to attend will be dismissed at 1:15 on Friday, since the session does not start until 2:30 that afternoon.  All students, regardless of choice of transportation, are expected to be in attendance until 1:15 on Friday.  Forms are available in the office.

There will be a golf meeting today during Power Hour in the HS gym for students who would like to participate this year.  Please contact Coach Gibson at if you are unable to attend or if you have any questions.

Spring agility, for secondary athletes only, will begin Monday, February 24th.  The scheduled time is M-W-F from 7:00 – 8:00 a.m.  It will run for 6 weeks, through April 3rd.  We will be taking the week of Spring Break off.  Nealey Webster, our school athletic trainer from Athletico, will be joining us, and will be coordinating some of our activities.  We will be implementing some new things, and are excited to get started.

Coach DiCesare will have the weight room open on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays before agilities at 5:30 AM for anyone who is interested.

All academic bowl students need to go to Mrs. Garlinghouse’s room during Power Hour today for a meeting.

See Mr. Davis if you are an FFA member who is interested in showing sheep, swine, or meat goats at the Iowa State Fair this year.

Congratulations to Cole Cassady and Dominick DiCesare for moving on to today’s state wrestling competition!  Cole will wrestle in the quarterfinals and Dominick will wrestle in the 2nd round consolations.  Cael Cassady, Sean Miklus, and Devin Schall completed their seasons yesterday and will not be moving on, but great job to these wrestlers on their successful season!
