Resources for Parents
While the administration and faculty of Martensdale-St. Marys Community School District strives to go above and beyond in supporting student success, parents and guardians play a vital role as well. Parents of MStM students make a difference in the lives of not only their own students but in the wellbeing of the district at large by volunteering, staying informed, and supporting various Blue Devil programs, curriculums, and events.
MStM Curriculum Information
Martensdale-St. Marys adheres to the statewide Iowa Core Standards as produced by the Iowa Department of Education when planning and implementing curriculum for our students.
Keep Up with MStM Events on the Master Calendar
The Martensdale-St. Marys Athletic Boosters support the many successful student-athletes, coaches, and programs via fundraising efforts throughout the school year. They purchase new uniforms, offer scholarships, and provide other supports as conditions and needs warrant.
Aside from monetary donations, the most impactful way for the MStM community to participate is through volunteering for the various activities the Athletic Boosters do throughout the year, including working concession stands at events and the Pee-Wee Wrestling tournament held every winter. If you would like to volunteer or find out more information about the Athletic Boosters, please contact Emily Cassady.
Agriculture Education programming is a fairly recent addition to our course offerings. FFA financial support helps to fund this education and is the goal of our MStM FFA Boosters. Like other programs and similar organizations, FFA Boosters raise funds and provide opportunities for FFA members to expand their learning and showcase their many talents. Funding often goes toward entry fees for contests as well as deferring travel costs to the National Convention in Indianapolis. Please contact Valerie Oberbroeckling to learn how you can get involved.
Martensdale-St. Marys has a proud tradition of excellence in the performing arts, including vocal and instrumental music, drama, and speech. The Music Boosters offers financial support in alignment with the goals and needs of the music program, mainly through fundraising and donations. Their fundraising efforts lead to our ability to enter students and ensembles in more contests, offer more scholarships, and support these programs with material needs, such as additional instruments and technology. If you would like more information about the MStM Music Boosters, please contact Randy Olson.
The key mission of the MStM PTO is to support and enhance the educational experiences of the MStM elementary students, so that teachers and administrators can do their best work and our students can do their best learning!
